Shadetree is a Christian counseling practice. Being clear about what that means, and what it does not mean, helps you find the right care, whether here or elsewhere.
Not every person who needs help is best served by Shadetree. Some needs belong with a psychiatrist, a physician, a lawyer, or a crisis line. We want to be honest about that so you can get the right help at the right time.
This page walks through the services Shadetree provides, and the situations where we will refer you to a different kind of professional. Both matter.

These are the services Shadetree provides. Our counselors are trained and faith-integrated.
Marriage, premarital, couples, and relationship counseling for partners at every stage of commitment.
One-on-one counseling for anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity, grief, trauma, and growth.
Support for families working through change and confidential counseling for adolescents.
Gentle, faith-rooted grief counseling for loss of a spouse, parent, child, or other significant losses.
Prayer, Scripture, and Christian frameworks are offered as resources when clients want them, never imposed.
Gottman, SYMBIS, CBT, ACT, and other research-backed modalities, chosen to fit your specific situation.
All services are available at our Ocala offices and through secure online sessions across Florida.
Those are the things we do, and we take each one seriously.
Take the First StepWe bring together three powerful lenses to help you experience lasting transformation, not just symptom management.
We do not prescribe or manage medications. If you need medication evaluation, please consult a psychiatrist or primary care physician. We are glad to coordinate care with your medical provider with your consent.
We do not provide emergency or crisis services. If you or someone you love is in danger, please call 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
We do not offer legal advice or represent you in court. For legal questions about divorce, custody, wills, or other matters, please consult a licensed attorney.
Starting counseling can feel vulnerable. Here's what the process looks like at Shadetree, so you can walk in with confidence.
Reach out through our contact form or call. We'll listen and match you with a counselor who fits your needs.
A safe space to share what you are carrying, knowing we will help you find the right care even when that care is elsewhere.
Your counselor creates a tailored plan addressing your specific challenges with proven strategies.
Clear scope protects you. It makes sure the help you receive is the right help.
Have a question we haven't answered? We'd love to hear from you.
Ask Us AnythingIf you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please call 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline or 911. Shadetree is not set up for crisis response. We want you to get help right away.
No. Our counselors cannot prescribe medication. If medication may be helpful, please consult a psychiatrist or primary care provider. We can coordinate with them as part of your care.
We can walk with you emotionally, but we cannot give legal advice. For legal matters, please consult a licensed attorney. We are glad to recommend attorneys if you need referrals.
Some mental health conditions and active addictions need specialized care beyond our scope. Your first session includes screening for fit. If another level of care would serve you better, we will help you find it.
Yes. For situations that fit our scope, we offer both in-person counseling at our Ocala offices and secure online sessions across Florida.
We integrate faith, clinical training, and temperament science in a way few practices do. We don't just manage symptoms. We help you understand the deeper patterns at work. And because we're Christ-centered, we believe real, lasting transformation is always possible.
